Audio Engineer & Sound Designer

Matthew MEndoza

Hello there, my name is Matthew Mendoza! I’m a sound designer based in the Los Angeles area and I graduated from Mount San Antonio College with an AS in Audio Arts!

For as long as I can remember, video games have been a part of my life. Growing up I played any game I could get my hands on and I even played games on both sides of the console wars, leaving me with a wide range of different gaming memories and experiences. Some of my favorite game series include Halo, Final Fantasy, and Resident Evil, my favorite games in the series being Halo 2, Final Fantasy 12, and Resident Evil 4! I started to gain a love for audio however when people always told me that I should be on the radio due to my voice, so I took some radio/On-air voice classes and noticed that working with audio was really fun! From there I wanted to work on cartoons or anime as both of those also played crucial parts in my childhood but video games always remained a core hobby and passion of mine.

After graduating, I started to learn about Audio Post Production and after attending my first GDC in 2024, I realized I wanted to give back to the video game world and decided to focus my skills in game audio design. At my time interning at Burbank sound houses, I’ve worked in Localization/Dubbing, SFX Editing and also Dialogue Editing. After attending my first game jam I then also started learning Godot and programming in GDScript. I have over 4+ years of knowledge with the industry standard audio software such as Reaper and ProTools and I have proficient experience with Audio Middleware implementation tools such as WWise.
